PT Moya Indonesia, in collaboration with the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta through its Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) PAM Jaya, signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the implementation of the Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) through optimization of existing assets and development of new assets under a bundled financing scheme. The signing ceremony took place at Jakarta City Hall.
The agreement was witnessed by the Governor of DKI Jakarta and the Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta. This cooperation represents a strategic step in strengthening reliable, sustainable, and city-wide piped water services for Jakarta.
The agreement follows a Memorandum of Understanding titled “Synergy and Support for the Implementation of the Drinking Water Supply System in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta” between the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta and the Central Government.
The MoU was signed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and witnessed by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment in January 2022.
This partnership supports the acceleration of achieving full piped water service coverage in Jakarta. At the time of signing, service coverage had reached approximately two-thirds of the population. To achieve full coverage, additional raw water supply and expansion of distribution networks are required.
Through collaboration between the Central Government, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta, PAM Jaya, and PT Moya Indonesia, SPAM implementation is expected to operate more effectively and ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable drinking water for all residents of Jakarta.
